Anne Dudar Obituary

Anne Dudar (Medwid) 1928-2022

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Anne Dudar (Medwid), our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all whose lives she touched.

She left us on March 1, 2022, while sleeping peacefully at the Grandview District Hospital in Grandview, Manitoba.  She was in her 93rd year.

Born and raised along with her only brother Sylvester, in the Bohdan district (Ethelbert, Manitoba) N.W. 1/4 section 31-28-22 W to Fred Medwid and Maria (Mary) Burdeny.  Anne completed her grade 12 from the Dauphin Collegiate Institute, she then attended summer school in Winnipeg, enabling her to teach school on permit at Bohdan, and Ruskin.  She then ventured to Toronto, where she worked for Radio Value from 1948 - 1955 supervising the assembly of radio and television tubes.

In October 1955, Anne was united in marriage to Mike Dudar, son of Wasyl and Katherine.  Mike and Anne were blessed with two children, William and Karen.  They lived in various location in Ontario; Sarnia, Toronto and Kleinberg.  In the early 60's they established and managed Drywall Contracting, Brandon, Manitoba, and later purchased a parcel of land in the Mink Creek area for their Black Angus cow/calf operation.  As the years went by Mike started his successful outfitting business known as "Mink Creek Outfitters".  This Ma and Pa business drew bear and buck hunters worldwide, leaving lasting relationships.  Sadly, Mike passed away in 2007.  Anne continued to reside on the farm until the present time.

Anne enjoyed painting pysanky, gardening, canning and baking.

Anne is survived by her children; William (Arlene) and Karen (Michael) Quaile.  Proud grandmother of Colin and Jocelyn (Fiance John Kramer).  Also surviving is brother Sylvester Medwid (Kathleen), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Predeceased by her husband Mike, parents Fred and Mary Medwid, brother in law Walter Dudar.

In accordance with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Anne's life will be held at a later date.

Should friends so desire donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Grandview District Hospital Foundation.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pathways Funeral Services for their compassionate and professional help.  As well as the Grandview District Hospital for the excellent care given during the last several months of Anne's life.
