Barry Hawryluk, of Garland, Manitoba passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the age of 63 years.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. from the Garland Union Cemetery in Garland, Manitoba with Reverend Father Brent Kuzyk officiating.
Barry was born May 27, 1960, to John and Jean Hawryluk. Barry was the oldest of 4 siblings growing up on the farm in Garland.
He attended Zalica school and later Ethelbert School. Barry had various jobs in his younger years, telling stories of working at the sawmill in Pine River, building the Ethelbert Cargill elevator one nail at a time and Podolski Apiaries. He stayed on the farm after dad’s passing in 1979.
He became a beekeeper and kept many hives, often working among them without a veil, or gloves for protection. His family always had fresh honey.
He enjoyed and spoke often of his trips to B.C. with his uncle Nestor visiting family. Barry enjoyed fishing off shore in the Duck Mountains, sharing stories of his catch. He was a trapper and enjoyed trapping beavers, coyotes, and wolves. Barry was never at a loss for words and full of stories to tell.
Barry was predeceased by his parents John and Jean Hawryluk. Left to mourn his passing are his brother Robert, sisters Libby (Mike) Moroz, Lynn (Tim) McAllister, and niece Alias.
