Brenda Maxwell Obituary

Brenda Marie (Mitchell) Maxwell, 68, passed away on March 27, 2021 at the Dauphin Hospital surrounded by the devoted love of her husband Terry and her two children Josh and Danella. She wished that she could have one more good time with her husband Terry, children Danella (Jason) & Josh, grandchildren Ashton, Brielle & Emma, her mother Ella Mitchell and her siblings.
To steal a line from a movie, “You know the Greeks didn’t write obituaries. They only asked one question after a woman died: Did she have passion?”
To say Brenda had passion is an understatement. A passion for life, a passion for family and friends, and a passion for all the little things that make life worth living. She loved to spend time in the gazebo, surrounded by her flowers and watching the birds.

Brenda was a pillar and fixture in this community for her entire life; growing up in Grandview, and living her adult life in Ashville, Dauphin, and Grandview. The Dauphin Coop was not only a place that she worked at for 40+ years, but a second home with a family of friends. You’d be hard pressed to find someone living in the Parkland region that she didn’t touch in some way. She left her mark.

Brenda would now like you to know that her work here is done. She received a call of sorts. The kind of call you don’t leave for the answering machine. An appointment from which you don’t return from. But take solace, loved ones. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will see loved ones that she has not seen in a long time...her father Laverne Mitchell, Florence and Bernie Maxwell, Tom Maxwell, Bob Lyle, and so many more. They will have been waiting for her with a glass of her favourite wine and open arms. Socializing, dancing and music to her heart’s content. Laughter and love guaranteed.

She left specific instructions for her husband and children to continue their mission here. Non-compliance will not be tolerated...and if you knew Brenda, you knew what that meant. We will remember Brenda for her smile, her laughter, her love and, of course, her passion.
She will be missed.

Our family would like to send a special thank you to all of the staff at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre for their care, and compassion during a very difficult time.

In accordance with Brenda's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Brenda's life will be held at a later date.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Grandview or Dauphin Community Foundations.
