It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and friend, Carol May Scott (Clifford) who passed away on Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 at the age of 73 years.
Carol was born in Dauphin to Harold and Phyllis Clifford (McIntosh) on April 8, 1948. She enjoyed her childhood growing up on 3rd Ave playing with her life long friends Janie and Brant as well as her brother Greg. Carol attended the Henderson School, McNeil School, and Dauphin Collegiate Technical School. As a child she enjoyed travelling with family to visit cousins and friends. Carol loved cats dogs, especially her own childhood cat named Nuffy. Summers were spent as much as possible at the cabin as well as at Dauphin Beach, Grand Beach, Ochre Beach, and Crescent Cove swimming and enjoying the sun.
Carol lived close to the radio station growing up and would get excited when celebrities like Bobby Curtola came to visit. Hoping for the chance to catch a glimpse on the street. After graduation Carol attended school in Winnipeg where she received her Hair Stylist degree and began working for Richards Hair Salon. During her time in Winnipeg, she met Ian Scott. Ian and Carol were married in Dauphin. They resided in Winnipeg for a while before returning to Dauphin to make a home for their family. Carol took great joy in becoming a housewife and mother to her four children, Jody, Julie, Tracy, and Stephen. Over the years Ian and Carol grew apart and separated, though they remained friends.
Carol took great joy in her family. Her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her days. She adored her time spend with them. Whether it be coffee visits, bowling dates, or sitting around watching afternoon curling, she adored every minute of it.
Carol leaves to mourn her passing, her children Jody, Julie, Tracy (Ben Robb), and Stephen (Cheryl Komar), grandsons Carter and Cody and her brother Greg Clifford (Carla). Carol was predeceased by her parents Harold and Phyllis.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held for Carol on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. from the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery with Ilene Dowd officiating.
