Eleanor Richard

Eleanor Marie Richard (nee Oulette) passed away on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at the age of 75 years. Eleanor was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born on June 16, 1949, in Flin Flon, MB. She was raised in Channing, MB in the home of her maternal grandparents surrounded by a huge family of siblings and cousins with whom she remained close to until her passing.  She married the love of her life, Allan Richard, in 1967 and together they raised three children.

Eleanor was all about family and friends.  No-one was ever turned away from her door. She was always full of love with a strong mama bear quality, her passion for her family was unsurpassed. She always had an open invitation for a needy soul whether their need be a bed, a meal or just a cup of coffee and an ear to bend. Eleanor’s house was always a stop for family and friends who just wanted to take a break from shopping or those who needed a ride home.

Eleanor had a full and rich life. She loved camping in the summer months, at first with her own children and then with her grandchildren and her favourite time was her trips to Disney World with her grandchildren. She worked many jobs during her life and ultimately took a job at the Flin Flon General Hospital as a dietary aide and then in housekeeping where she worked until her retirement.

After her retirement she and Allan moved to Dauphin, where she developed a love for her flower beds and planters filling her yard with colour every summer. She eventually moved to Happy Haven where she had many friends.  She became very involved with the local MMF and was working on learning the Cree language.

She is predeceased by her dear mother, Edith, Her brother Greg, grandparents Dave and Ester, brothers-in-law Don and Archie.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Allan, daughter Karen (Dan), sons Greg (Sheri), and Al (Janet). Grandchildren: Rykki Lynn (Darcy), Alex (Justyce), Nicole, Carly (Brendan), Korbin,Kadin, Kasy (Sean) and Justis.  Great-grandchildren:  Aleeysa, Kyanna, Lennin, Aria, Reese, Shelby, Theo, and Aria. She is also survived by her remaining nine siblings: Sam, Joanie, Frankie, Jim, Shirley, Ricky, Debbie, Bud and Hoss as well as many other family members whom she loved dearly...

A service will be held in Flin Flon, MB on July 19th.
