Howard (Howie) Hunter Durston, 74 of Dauphin left us suddenly on April 14, 2023, of heart disease.
Howie was born in Dauphin to Howard Durston & Elizabeth (Bette) Durston on February 13, 1949. He received two graduation diplomas from DCTI, one for university entrand and one for commercial. He attended the University of Manitoba and Brandon University, but farming was his wish for an occupation for his life.
He served in the community in many ways over his years, he was a Beavers Club & Scout leader, and served with the Dauphin Ag Society, Dauphin Kinsmen Club, Dauphin Archery Club, Farm Arbitration Board, Parkland Crop Club, Manitoba Pool Elevators Board & a long time member of Boze’s Body Shop and now Ramsey’s Gym. His favourite pastime was reading, he loved to read, and he loved his boat, and he loved spending time with his boys and other family members. He would tow them all around Clear Lake all day and never complain. He loved to see people happy.
Howie married (the girl he couldn’t live without) Beverly (Bev) Toews on June 22, 1974, in Dauphin and we spend 48 10/12 years happily together. We were blessed with two boys he loved with all his heart.
Howie was predeceased by his parents, an infant daughter in 1975, his nephew Jason, and two brothers-in-law.
Leaving behind is loving wife Bev, and sons Chad (Marlene) and Kurt, both of Dauphin and his grandchildren Carli & Riley, he loved you both so much. Robert (Carolyn) Durston of Neepawa, Jean Heinrichs of Minnesota, and Diane McCrae of Winnipeg, as well as man nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws and very close family ties.
A private celebration of Howie’s life will be held after seeding.
