Jim Fediuk

James (Jim) Fediuk, age 79 of Dauphin, Manitoba passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his family. He is survived by his stepdaughter Kari (Ayush) Kumar; his granddaughter Divya; and his sister Edna Doyle. He was predeceased by his wife Rita, and his parents Mike and Helen (Hilda) Fediuk.

Jim was born in Dauphin and grew up on a farm near McCreary, Manitoba. Following his graduation from McCreary Collegiate, Jim reported for basic training with the RCMP in Ottawa, in September 1962. After 14 years in the Force, he applied for discharge from the “O” Division Drug Squad, Toronto to return to family business at his father’s request. His RCMP training and years in the Force were very memorable periods in his life and, following his return to Manitoba, Jim was active in the Royal Canadian Legion for many years. He married Rita in 1997 and they enjoyed their life together in McCreary until her death in 2002. Jim later relocated to Dauphin where he spent the rest of his years, and valued his many long-standing friendships and his new role as Grandpa.

A memorial service was held for Jim on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00am at Pathways Funeral Services in Dauphin.  Pastor Richard Heppner officiated.
