It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, son, grandson, godchild, nephew, cousin, and friend, John.
John Napoleon Paul Ledoux was born in Dauphin, Manitoba, on April 30, 2002, to Garry Flatfoot and Juanita Ledoux. He began his journey in the spirit world on January 25, 2026, at the age of 23.
He spent the first year of his life in Pine Creek, Manitoba, before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, where he grew up. At the age of eight, he developed a strong love for sports, especially basketball, football, and judo. Through judo, he competed in tournaments both in and outside of Regina, showing determination, discipline, and pride in his abilities. John was also a devoted fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, proudly cheering them on alongside his dad, creating special memories they shared together.
John was known for his sense of humor and love of storytelling. He brought laughter to those around him, often sharing a crazy story or recounting something mischievous he had done. His humor and warmth had a way of making everyone smile. He cherished quiet moments too, finding joy in journaling and collecting hockey cards.
He attended school in Regina until reaching high school, after which he returned to Pine Creek to attend high school. It was during this time that he spent much of his time with his “Pine Creek” family, and he met his partner, Kerisha Neapew.
John later moved back to Regina, where he resided with his family and spent the rest of his life. In 2019, John and Kerisha welcomed their baby girl, Ophelia Neapew, and in 2021, they welcomed their baby boy, John Jr. Neapew. John took great pride in his role as a father and always tried his best to be a loving and supportive dad. He rarely called Ophelia by her name, instead he referred to her as “my girl”. He was deeply protective of her, often following closely behind wherever she went, never missing a chance to remind her just how much he loved her.
He had many friends and spent much of his time visiting and connecting with friends and family. John valued relationships deeply and cherished the time he shared with those he loved, especially his mom, his dad, his partner Kerisha, his children, his brothers Owen and Waylon, and his sister Bethany.
John is predeceased by his partner, Kerisha; his son, John Jr. Neapew; his brother, Owen; his uncle Randy Flatfoot and his cousin Alexis Ledoux.
John is survived by his parents, Garry Flatfoot and Juanita Ledoux; his daughter, Ophelia Neapew; his siblings, Donovan, Waylon and Bethany; his paternal grandparents, Ann Marie and Leonard Flatfoot, and Maternal grandfather John Ledoux. He is also lovingly remembered by his aunties Leona Flatfoot, Lisa Flatfoot (Kenny), Lisa Ledoux (Chris Turner), Sharon Ledoux, Amanda Ledoux, and by his uncles Jerry Sr. Flatfoot (Myrna), John Ledoux (godfather), his godmother Brittany Lafreniere as well as his cousins (Paternal) Jenna, Connie, Farren, Bridgette, Brittany, Ian, Jerry Jr, Hannah, Jayden, Hope (Maternal) Dawn, Damian, Dustin, Genelle, Gabrielle, Julius, Madelaine, William, Lily, Krista, Austin, Louis and Isabelle.
John will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his pride in being a dad, his passion for sports, and the meaningful connections he built with those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
All of John’s friends and family are to be considered Honourary Pallbearers.
A wake will be held at the Pine Creek First Nation Recreational Complex on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. Prayers for John will be offered at 8:00 P.M. with Ken Parenteau officiating.
