Joseph Francois Jacques Jean Bourque, 71 of Dauphin Manitoba passed away peacefully September 27, 2025, at the Dauphin Personal Care home with loves ones by his side.
Jean (John) was born May 9, 1954 in St Jean Sur Richelieu Quebec to parents Lucille and Claude Bourque, he was the oldest of 4 siblings. He married is wife Lori Bourque (Sigvaldason) in Arborg MB in July 1983.
Jean joined the RCMP in November 1973 retired in January 2006, after a long and rewarding career of 32 years that took him all over the country and forged long lasting friendships along the way.
Jean always had a passion for the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, golfing, camping with the family, travelling with Lori in their retirement and spending time with his grandkids. A highlight of Jeans's retirement was the home away from home he and Lori made in Weslaco Texas for 8 winters. Jean was known for his dry sense of humour, quick wit and being a man of few words.
He is survived by his wife Lori of 42 years, daughters Chantal (Jordan), Michelle (Brent), grandchildren Maverick, Oaklyn & Freya. Brother Louis sister Natalie. Sister in law Donna, brother in laws Gary (Diane), Glenn (Jodine), many nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his parents Claude and Lucille Bourque, brother Guy. Father and Mother-in-Law Edwin and Hazel Sigvaldason, Brother in law Allan Sveinson.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. from Pathways Funeral Services with Luke Macmillan officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery.
