Joyce Love

It is with great sadness that the Love family announces the passing of Joyce Love on June 3 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre after a brief illness with cancer.

Joyce was born in Dauphin on June 23, 1937, to Nellie (Kostiuk) and Jacob Kostiew. She was raised in Ripon district and attended Dauphin Collegiate. Joyce met her soulmate Larry Love in Dauphin, and they were married on October 17, 1959. Together they raised their two children, Ron, and Nancy, in Dauphin.

Joyce and Larry were very active in their community and made many good friends in Dauphin over the years, including through their involvement in Lions and Lionelles, and Barbershoppers. Joyce could always be counted on to help out at the Barbershoppers' annual concerts and afterglow parties and they often hosted the annual wind-up party at their cabin at Crescent Cove. Joyce and Larry also were actively involved in the Dauphin First United Church and volunteered in various capacities at the Church.

Joyce and Larry enjoyed spending summers at their cabin at Crescent Cove where many great memories were made with their family and friends. They also spent time in the winters in Mazatlan, Mexico, where their family would often visit. Joyce cherished her family and she shared a close bond with grandsons Riley and Luke.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her brother Jack Kostiew, and granddaughter Kyla Love.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Larry, son Ron Love and daughter-in-law Shelly, daughter Nancy Love and son-in-law Brian Lee, grandson Riley Love and wife Janelle and daughter Éloise, and grandson Luke Love and wife Erin. Joyce is also survived by her sister Diana Richardson, brothers-in-law Les Love and Leith Love, sister-in-law Arleigh Kumitch, and many nephews and nieces.

The Love family wishes to extend our gratitude to Dr. Anthony Wiens, Dr. Mike Penrose and hospital staff for their compassionate care.

In keeping with Joyce's wishes, a private family service will be held.
