Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Loyd Gregory Austin. Who passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday February 10, 2022 at the age of 71 years.

Lloyd was born on December 23, 1950, in Dauphin Manitoba to parents Albert & Olga Austin.

Lloyd shared 27 years with his beloved partner Sherrian Karasz.

Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his brother Robert (Debbie), sisters Patti (Jim) & Deana (Peter).

Lloyd was an avid member of the Dauphin Rebels Auto club who he met with every Thursday throughout the summer months. Lloyd had a passion for restoring antique cars. The Grandview Museum has on display four antique vehicles that Lloyd had restored. Lloyd had his own antique car which was a 1957 Pontiac Pathfinder.

Lloyd graduated from High school in Dauphin, he then went on to receive his mechanics certificate in Brandon Manitoba.

Lloyd spent the majority of his working career employed by Canadian Tire between Dauphin and Estevan. He finished up his career working for Denray Tire in Dauphin.

Lloyd followed his “beloved” Montreal Canadiens and was a “confirmed” Habs fan. He enjoyed going to junior games to watch the Dauphin Kings.

Lloyd was followed everywhere he went by his best friend for the past 14 years “Noel” his pet dog. Prior to Noel it was Calie the cat.

Lloyd attended the Anglican Church in Dauphin.

Lloyd is survived by his loving partner Sherrian Karasz, his sons Greg (Dana), Jeff (Jana) & Robin (Dawn)

Grandchildren, Jordan,Taylor, Vicky, Carter & Ryder. Great grandson Jasper. And his mom Olga.

Lloyd was predeceased by his father Albert.

A Private Funeral service was at Pathways Funeral Services on Wednesday, February 16, at 11:00 am. and was officiated by Reverend Barry Nadolny

Interment took place at the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery
