Louise Fiel

It is with a great sadness that the family wishes to announce the unexpected passing of Louise Ann Fiel at the age of 86 years on February 7, 2023.

Louise was born on the family farm on May 24, 1936 in the Rural Municipality of Dauphin to parents Joe and Lena (nee Panko) Kreshewski. At the age of four she moved with her family to Rossburn, Manitoba where she spent her early years. She was the eldest daughter in a family of fourteen children and spent many hours providing a helping hand to her mother taking care of her sisters and brothers.

On June 19, 1956 she married the love of her life Archie Fiel in Rossburn, Manitoba. They relocated to Dauphin in 1960 to be closer to her maternal family and start a family of their own. One of her proudest achievements was sharing in the celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary with her husband Archie in 2016.

Louise enjoyed many experiences in her work life, starting with the raising of a family, sharing moments with her dear friend Barb while employed making pizza crusts for the Pizza Place, and lastly enjoying twenty five years with the Province of Manitoba as a Home Care worker.

Louise was a very active member of St. Viator’s Parish and participated in various capacities with the Catholic Women’s League for over fifty years. She enjoyed her time in many local community organizations including the Dauphin Pottery & Ceramics Club, Dauphin Friendship Centre, Dauphin Horticultural Society and Dauphin Agricultural Society of which she was a life member.

While she thoroughly enjoyed her time in in many activities nothing could compare to the love she had for gardening. Her garden was her oasis where she enjoyed countless hours of joy, peace and contentment.

Louise is survived by her son Darrell (Sylvia) and daughter Darlene (Clint). She is also survived by her grandchildren Justin (Daria) and Andrew along with five great-grandchildren, Jayden, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Nikolai and Ryder. She also leaves her brothers Ed (Velma) Kreshewski,  Michael Kreshewski and sisters Hazel (Richard) Stack, Shirley Craig, Elaine (Jim) Mandziuk, Judy (Wayne) Bartkiw and Carol Ann (Lothar) Roessing. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Lorraine and Marion Kreshewski, Sonya Rubeniuk and Alice Mushumanski as well as many nieces and nephews.

Louise was pre-deceased by her husband Archie, brothers and sisters-in-law Peter, William, Alec (Elsie) and Terry (Colleen) Kreshewski and her sisters and brothers-in-law Murnie (Bill) Antonyshyn and Florence (Clifford) Lamy. She was also pre-deceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe and Rose Fiel, Jim Rubeniuk, Lewis Mushumanski as well as nephew Kevin Mandziuk and niece Valerie Herchak.

Louise had the ability to leave a lasting impression to all who met her which resulted in many life-long friendships; she will be sorely missed by everyone she touched.

A Funeral Service will be held for Louise on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. from St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church in Dauphin, Manitoba with Father Michel Nault officiating.  The Rosary will be read at 11:00 A.M.  Interment will follow in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery.
