Marjorie Lytwyn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and friend Marjorie “Marge, Margie or Baba” Lytwyn on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at the Winnipegosis Personal Care Home, Winnipegosis, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on March 19, 1938 Marge was the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Pittman) Jones. She married Edward Lytwyn in 1964 in Sydney River, Nova Scotia and they moved to Burlington, Ontario shortly thereafter. They further resided in Wekusko Falls, Manitoba and Carrot River, Saskatchewan before putting down roots in Winnipegosis. Family was everything to Marge and she proudly told everyone about her children and grandchildren whenever you stopped for a visit. Marge worked for 30 years at the local Winnipegosis Motor Inn and was known for her amazing cooking and inviting nature. She was greatly missed when a stroke took her away from the kitchen and her hotel ‘family’.

Marge is survived by her son George Lytwyn (Carol Harrison) Dawson Bay; Carol Klimack (Duane) Silverton; Eileen Leslie (Neil) Holland and Stanley Lytwyn (Leah) Calgary, Alberta; Grandchildren, Rubi (Scott) Weyhrich Nebraska; Larrisa (Nav) Sharma Victoria, Julia, Sarah, Laura and Steven Klimack; Nolan, Carter and Graham Leslie; Thomas, Lachlan and Sydney Lytwyn; great-grandchildren, Veyda Sharma; Oliver, Samson and Truman Weyhrich as well as many nieces and nephews still residing in Sydney, Nova Scotia and surrounding areas.

Besides her parents, Marge was predeceased by her loving husband Edward in 1982; sister Millie Joseph; sister Ada Tomko and brother Joseph Jones; Brother-in-law Josie Lytwyn and Sister-in-law Mildred Longmuir as well as many other close family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held for Marge on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at the Mossey River Inn, Winnipegosis, Manitoba from 2:00-5:00 pm with services beginning at 2:00p.m. Everyone is welcome to come, tell stories and remain to visit, dance and have a few drinks.

The family gives heartful thanks to the staff at the Winnipegosis Care Home who lovingly took care of Marge during her time with them.
