Matthew Chartrand

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Matthew Kenneth Justin Chartrand, 36 in Dauphin, MB. on August 31, 2022.

Matthew was born in Dauphin, MB. November 15, 1985. To Kenneth Chartrand and Carmen Kinistino. He grew up in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He had family and friends in both provinces. Matthew had a smile and laugh that lit up a room. You instantly felt comfortable when he approached you to talk. The love he had for people never went unnoticed. He would always make sure to check in on his friends and family. Whether it was to wish a happy birthday, a quick message to say hey, how are you?, How’s your kids?, to say I love you, I miss you. He was an amazing father. He would do whatever it took to make sure he made it to visit his children, his boys who he took as his own Brandon, Ryan and Dean, his daughter Tara, who he named after his older sister. She was one lucky little lady to have him as her dad. He made sure to never keep her waiting and when he said he was going to see her, he would move mountains to make sure he didn’t keep her waiting. Tragically, this was the one visit he did not make, as he was on his way to see her to visit her. Matthew will always be remembered as the brother who constantly made sure you knew he loved you, the father who did everything and anything he possibly could with an infinite love, the son who loved his parents and did what he could when they needed him. A friend and family member who brought joy into your life, and always made sure to check in on everyone. He was loved by many and will be remembered as such.

Matthew was predeceased by his common law wife: Destany Sparvier. His maternal grandfathers: William (Dinose) Kinistino and Ernie Bob, his paternal grandparents: Lena and Thomas Chartrand. His sisters, Tara Chartrand~Shingoose, Kiyomi Chartrand and Kenisha Chartrand~Belanger, as well as numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matthew is survived by his partner: Delma. His children: Tara, Brandon, Ryan and Dean. His parents: Kenneth and Carmen. His siblings: Kenneth (Jasmine), Timothy (Cindy), Melvina, Elisha, Melodie (Garhard), Candy (Lewis), Joshua, Gina (Brendan) and Simone. As well as other numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wake and Funeral services were held in Dauphin, Manitoba at the Ukrainian Orthodox Auditorium, 304 Whitmore Ave E.
Wake - September 1st, at 4:00 PM
Funeral Service - September 17th at 10:00 AM

Burial service will commence in Saskatchewan after the funeral service on September 17th at the Wapemoose Family Cemetery, Cowessess, Melville census Division, SK 50.58197, -102.6564
