Phedra McIlroy

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Phedra Lynn McIlroy (Corrigan) at the age of forty four on July 16th, 2021.

Phedra is lovingly remembered by her husband, Phil; parents, Linda (Ed) and Terry (Kris); brother, Tyler; children, Tanisha and Floyd; step daughters Melissa and Nikki, step son Arly and numerous relatives and friends.

Phedra was born in Kingston, Ontario on February 26, 1977 where she grew up with her brother and parents.  She built a beautiful and loving home with her husband in Dauphin, Manitoba and was cherished by her community and loved ones.

Phedra's family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Phedra at the Trinity Lutheran Church (2 Kirby Ave., Dauphin, MB) on Saturday August 7th, 2021 at 11:00am. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the in church service will be limited to 25 people. If you would like to attend the 11:00am service please notify Nikki Kaiser by email at corrigannikki@gmail.com to confirm attendance. Please note that immediate family will be a priority for this service.

An outdoor gathering will take place after the service for those who would like to attend the remembrance of life at 4:00pm. Family and friends will be welcome at this service to pay their respects to the family. The address for this service will be held at 51°07'33.3"N 100°02'26.3"W

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
