Robert Henry Allum

January 21, 1948 – August 31, 2022

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, Robert passed away in the Palliative Care Unit at the Dauphin General Hospital at the age of 74 years. 

Robert was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on January 21, 1948 to John Henry (Jack) and Olga (Ollie) Allum.  He was the eldest of two siblings, Barry (Dianne) and Cindy.  Robert grew up on the family farm.  He attended Dixon Country School until closure and then entered into the Dauphin School Division.

Robert married the love of his life, Mavis Hassard on January 24, 1970.  They enjoyed 52 years of marriage which included three children Corey(Cheryl), Kelley and Curtis(Angelica).  Robert always had an interest in heavy duty mechanics which started at Cross Road Implements in Dauphin, Manitoba.  He and Mavis moved their family to Brandon, where he enrolled and graduated with his Heavy Duty Mechanics Red Seal Ticket.  Robert was a life long learner.  Every course he could enroll in, he took.  Every young person he could get a hold of he taught.  However, Robert’s passion was his wife and family.  A bonus to all of this was his grandchildren Codey(Kate), Jayden (Ilya), Keith, Bryce, Kayden, Shane and Michael.  This year came a new addition, Winston his great grandson.  Robert had a big heart and seemed to collect honorary children and grandchildren. 

Robert will be missed by all who knew him.  Robert accepted Christ as his personal savior.  One of the lasting memories was Robert stating that his last breath here would be his first breath in heaven.  Love you Dad!  We will miss you.
