Sharon LeFlour Obituary

Sharon Doreen LeFlour (Poynting) of Winnipeg, MB passed away suddenly on June 6, 2024, four days after her 70th birthday.

Sharon was born June 2, 1954, to Thomas and Lillian Poynting in Winnipegosis, MB.  She was the third eldest child of ten siblings.

Sharon was predeceased by her great grandmother Christine Clarkson, great grandmother Myrtle Poynting, grandparents Louis and Frances Langlois, parents Thomas and Lillian Poynting, brothers Melvin and Jerome Poynting, sister Mary Ellen Bobinski, Nephews Mitchell Bobinski, Anthony and Nolan Robb.

She will be lovingly missed by her two children, son Dean (Wendy Taylor), and daughter Sheena (Kyle); grandchildren Nathaniel, Whitney and Aubrey; siblings Gail Roulette, Gary Poynting (Leona), Elizabeth Poynting (Roy), Walter “Poncho” Poynting, Debra Poynting (Melvin), Sheryl Robb Poynting, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharon was raised on a farm in South Bay and attended school in Winnipegosis.  Sharon married Siggi LeFlour in 1972 and began her schooling for nursing in Winnipeg to obtain her LPN license.  She raised her children while working in Edmonton, AB and later Winnipeg, where she worked at all the hospitals, the last and longest employment being at Holy Family Nursing Home until her retirement.

Sharon had many pets in her life, Buddy and Holly (puggles) and a 20-year-old cat named Jetta.  Dean and Sheena will look after the living pets.

Sharon was a highly recognized nurse and loved her job.  She loved helping and caring for people.  Sharon loved to spend time with her grandchildren and loved to spend time outside in her backyard working on the yard.  She loved flowers and had a small garden in the backyard.  When Sharon could, she loved to go to Winnipegosis to see family.

Sharon will be a dearly missed mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who was loved by all.
