Shirley McGregor

Shirley Josephine McGregor, at the age of 80, passed away Thursday, September 26th, 2024.

Shirley was born in Winnipeg on August 20th, 1944, and raised in the RM of Makaroff, MB.

Her mother passed when she was the age of 6, and her father at the age of 10. At that time, she was welcomed in the beautiful family of Margaret and Alec Franchuk and gained 5 siblings; Helen, Angela, Ben, Paul and Patrick.

In 1964, after finishing her education at Littles Business College, she began her career at the Bank of NovaScotia in Dauphin. During her time there, she received an award for her 25 years of service, and then continued to accumulate another 18 years when she retired in 2007.

Shirley was a devoted and loving wife to Earl Mcgregor, wedding date of November 12, 1966. In July of 1974, they welcomed their first son, Barclay James, and July of 1977, Rebecca Jolene. Both who have been her pride and joy.

The next big adventure began as a truly special grandmother to Kalee (2000), Brady (2002), Cole (2010) and Nash (2014). Delighted to be a part of their growing up. In their early married years; she enjoyed her time gardening, sewing, baking and raising her children. Elvis has always been her favourite hobby. Collecting memorabilia and traveling near and far to attend a concert. From Hawaii, to Memphis to across the provinces of Canada.

She shared activities with the Red hat society, and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her husband Earl (Dauphin, MB) Son Barclay, Lindsay, grandchildren Cole and Nash (Calgary, AB) Daughter Becky, grandchildren Kalee and Brayden (Dauphin Mb) Siblings Angela, Ben, Paul and Patrick. 

Predeceased by family members George and Helen.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. from the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery with Luke Macmillan officiating.
